Dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.
I’ve been thinking. We let many things into our life that influence us in a bad way. The funny thing is that we don’t even know when we are doing it. The enemy is so sneaky. He will take tiny steps towards us and slowly numb us to the garbage that is overflowing our life.
We don’t notice how terribly spoiled we are. America is spoiled. We don’t see people dying around us everywhere from disease, no.. we have medicine. We have it good here, but the verse above says to throw away spoiled virtue? Why do we need to do that? I believe that once your eyes are opened to the messed up world around us.. you’ll have a hungry to do something about it.
I love how James 1:19 tells us to “Lead with your ears and follow up with your tongue..”
Let God lead us.. let your God ears open up to God.. and listen to him. Not what your own mouth has to say.
“Let anger straggle along in the rear..” I think that when one puts God first and listens to him that anger will not have it’s hold on him or her.
When I read this verse.. it took me a few minutes to dissect it (and honestly.. I’m still trying to understand it). It’s so deep, and has so many layers..
This verse makes me think… that God is saying, clean up… let me take the mess your staring at and turn into into a beautiful thing.
Tell me your thoughts on this verse.
