The little boy was watching us.
My family went to my sister’s new apartment… and we played tennis at her place’s court. Since their was only one court to play on.. and seven people, we had a sweet rotation system where everyone played at least six times.
I saw the little boy about halfway through the tennis game… He had his face pressed against the tall fence.. and he just stared at us. The boy, no older than seven, walked around the fence and came into the court area. My sister’s fiance, Shanahan, went up and talked to him.. and gave him a fist-bump.
I left the courts early and when I met up with my sister, mom and dad… I realized that Shanahan wasn’t with them.
“Hey.. mom.. um where is Shanahan?” I asked.
“Oh.. he is at the tennis courts playing with Jalen.” said my mom.
“The little boy…”
We went to pick up Shanahan at the courts to go eat lunch… and when we pulled up he was hitting the ball to Jalen.I think that.. God smiled on what Shanahan did. I bet you that you he did… made Jalen’s day!
I think that small stuff like what my sister’s fiance did… can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
Love everyone.. no matter who they are… whether it’s a little kid… or an elderly person.
